Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh is Delivering Happiness

Announcements

Those of you who are active on Twitter might have come across the username @zappos which is account for Zappos.com CEO Tony Hsieh. Besides the fact that his tweets are quite funny, and that he shares lots of insights, there is also the fact that dude is loaded!

Just a brief introduction from his new book Delivering Happiness: A Path to Profits, Passion and Purpose.

In 1996, I co-founded LinkExchange, which was sold to Microsoft in 1998 for $265 million. In 1999, I got involved with Zappos as an advisor and investor, and eventually became CEO. We grew the company from almost no sales in 1999 to over $1 billion in gross merchandise sales, annually.

In 2009, Zappos was acquired by Amazon in a deal valued at over $1.2 billion on the day of closing.

Anyway, a couple of months ago, there was a tweet about how Tony had written a book and they were giving out advance reading copies (for free). All you needed to do was fill in a form, submit some details and voila! If you’re lucky, you’d be one of those selected (I’m not sure if they selected everyone!) and a copy of the book would be sent to you to be reviewed on your blog.

A few weeks ago, I received my copy (it was a soft-cover, when the book is released for sale in June, it will be hard-cover – you can pre-order it here). Along with that copy came a note.

Congratulations! You’ve been approved by the Delivering Happiness book team to receive an advance copy of the book. As a bonus, we’ve included an extra copy of the book for you to give away to your readers as either a prize for a contest of as part of a random giveaway.

Well, I have not just one extra but three books to giveaway. For some reason, I received two packages at different times from the Delivering Happiness team, so I have extra copies. So I’m giving away all three (I really only need one for myself).

I can’t tell you if the book’s any good yet because I’m only a few pages in but if you’d like a copy, you just need to leave a comment on this blog, finishing this sentence:

“Happiness is … “

I’ll give you guys till Friday to do this and will announce the winner next week when I write my review.
