World Cup Fever: Nike’s Write The Future ad

I usually save cool videos I come across on the Net for Mondays but the Internet was abuzz by the release yesterday of Nike’s World Cup campaign ad featuring such football stars at Wayne Rooney, Ronaldo, Ronaldhino, Cannavaro and Drogba so I just had to share it today!

Besides the football starts (including too many others to name here), there were also cameo appearances by tennis legend Roger Federer, actor Gael Garcia Bernal and basketball superstar Kobe Bryant. Oh, and get this, Homer Simpson!

For me, this video is epic not only because of the way it was shot (by Babel and 21 Grams director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu) but because I feel it captured the spirit of football (how every shot is make or break and how each little kick, flick or tackle has a ripple-effect on fans around the world). Also, I thought it was very current and relevant – YouTube, Facebook’s “Like’ feature and the Simpsons. What genius!
