I love Twitter. Just a few minutes ago, I read a Tweet from American rock star (in my eyes at least) Ryan Star (how apt!) which linked to a video of him performing We Might Fall to his grandparents. Look how proud his grandma looks, sitting there listening to him!
I thought it was just beautiful. The feeling was of course magnified by the fact that I am in a Ryan Star state of mind at the moment. In fact, his album (an autographed one, mind you) was the long thing I heard before I went to bed last night. And it’s playing on my iPod right now.
I really do enjoy Ryan’s music. I never watched RockStar Supernova but I watched all his segments on YouTube prior to interviewing him when he was in town in 2006, I think. Actually, I didn’t interview him much (I just sat in on the interview) and later got to hang out with him alongside the StarWorld and Channel [V] crew at his showcase event in Zouk later that night. He was a really nice guy, and I really, really enjoy his music!
I can’t find the video that we took of him at The Star where he performed for us, but here are a couple of pictures I took with him. Clockwise, from top left: Me greeting Ryan at the entrance of Menara Star; Walking towards the lift; After the video shoot; at Zouk KL after his showcase.
Can’t wait for his new album 11.59 (incidentally, the title of the song that he performed for us) to come out.
