The iPhone 3Gs and Google wave kept the Monday blues at bay

Well, this really was a post for yesterday but considering the big news (this and this, in case you missed all the excitement!), it had to be shelved. Truth be told, I was already mid-blogging this post when the news of Malaysia Day came about. And then Beyonce cancelled postponed on us.

It’s okay though because this post is really totally self-indulgent. I woke up yesterday to great news and I was telling myself that nothing’s gonna bring me down (yesterday that is) … and nothing did.

First of all, I opened my Inbox only to find a Google Wave invitation (thanks @mikefoong!). I’ve been waiting for one for a while now (not knowing that people at the office had it, grr) so when I got it, I was well excited. I haven’t figured it out too much yet but I’m still fiddling around. What I really enjoy is the real time chat feature where you can see what the other person is saying as he/she is typing. I’m really surprised it took so long for that feature to appear – after all, the technology has existed for many years now. Just ask ICQ!

Then, I got into the office and again, opened my Inbox and lo and behold, this appeared!

Yup, I know I am a bit ketinggalan zaman but I really was trying to hold off till next year to buy it ‘cos I was saving up and I didn’t want to burden my credit card anymore. But considering the amount of things my iPhone 2G can’t do, how it’s been crashing on me and the things I’ve been doing to it to try and get stuff like Ping working (and still not succeeding), the time was ripe to put my RM200 deposit down.
