But you’ll have to bear with me about this one because I had an awesome time at the Glee Flashmob Dance event today, organised by RandomAlphabets.

I don’t have many photos to share because I too danced along, although I was one of the people in the crew helping to plan out the event.

If you are not sure what I am going on about, we organised a flashmob today in tribute to the popular TV show Glee. We played a medley of four songs in The Gardens at 2pm – Don’t Stop Believing, Proud Mary, Gold Digger and Somebody to Love. Over 500 people were there singing and dancing along in unison, which was pretty awesome if you ask me (and I’m not just saying this because I’m involved in the project).

Over the past week, these participants have been rehearsing tirelessly, including meeting up for rehearsals almost every night. Yesterday, a few of us were at Bukit Bintang Boys School in PJ to teach the moves to some of the kids there and I really enjoyed their enthusiasm.

Here is a short video I took of some kids dancing to the song. There is a freestyle “section” in the song at the start – kind of to get the attention from the shoppers – and we got those under 18 to kick it off before everyone else joined in for the rest of the songs. That’s why I could take this video and nothing after, ‘cos I was too busy dancing! hehe

It went so well that when the guy controlling the sound system decided to play the music again for the second time (just to keep spirits up, it was unplanned), everyone started dancing again and the crowd went wild!

StarWorld constructed this backdrop there (which was unveiled at the end of the first dance) and everyone was rushing to take pictures with it.

Crew

This is some of us crew members – team captains, photographers, videographers et al. Then there is the cult leader Zain HD (holding his favourite tool because he likes to talk a lot – a microphone). hehe I’m just kidding about Zain by the way. He soooo does not like to talk. Much.

And then of course, I had to take a solo picture. Not that I’m much of a Glee fan but in the spirit of the day, and considering the efforts that was put in by organisers and participants alike …

This was the “encore” performance. It just happened! So unexpected but what great spirit!

I was part of the project too, as Chief Team Leader (whatever that means!).

Merdeka Celebrations

It was an event held in conjunction with Merdeka Day, where we got about 200 people to come together and decorate all seven Monorail trains running on that day. You can read more about what happened and see some pictures in my previous post.

I just wanted to share with you the official video of the event that was just released a few days ago. See if you can spot me at the beginning of the video!
