Those of you who have read some of my post might have realised by now that I consider Malacca my kampung. However, it’s actually my dad’s hometown. I was born in Selangor but raised in Bangsar. But it’s quite lame to tell people that my kampung is Bangsar, so I always say Malacca.
My The Bangsar Boy story this week was dedicated to my family. I wrote about my childhood experiences with Chinese New Year and what I love about it so much.
Things were going great all Chinese New Year. My family was in Malacca and as always, we have dinner with my father’s maternal extended family on the first and second night of CNY.
Greetings from Malacca! It’s the second day of Chinese New Year, and like we have been doing over the past few years, my family is in Malacca to visit the old folks.
Yesterday, I spent new year’s day in Malacca for a family function. My granduncle – the younger brother of my paternal grandfather – was celebrating his 60th wedding anniversary to my grandaunt. Their children Stanley, Margie and Lively Larry had put together a party to celebrate the occasion.
