My Chic Pop Street Market purchase

So, I received an email from Joyce a few days ago about Tongue in Chic’s Chic Pop Street Market happening this weekend. I’m not a big bazaar person, but I thought I’d drop by. I was a bit hesitant ‘cos I didn’t want to spend any money! But I went anyway.

What was really nice was of course seeing Zouk in the daytime. The last time I was in Velvet Underground in the day time was a few years ago (before they renovated the place) when I was editor of NewMan and we were doing a fashion shoot. I hated that it smelt of stale smoke and booze.

Surprisingly, they made it smell quite nice yesterday (am sure it will smell just as nice today – Pop Chic goes on until 6pm today). The bazaar took up most of the venue – there were booths leading all the way in from the entrance right into Zouk Mainroom and Velvet Underground. Food was served upstairs and booze, if you wanted some, was served downstairs.

There really wasn’t too many things for me to look at as they were all pretty girlie. Of course there were some stuff I was keen on (not the girlie stuff, mind you) but quite few. Still, as always, bumping into friends also make my day. I bumped into the TIC crew – Joyce, SuAnn and Jasmin. Then, as the picture below indicates, I had a few friends who opened booths (didn’t know!) there including Jules (who was helping a friend), my adik Naomi and Justin. I also bumped into Janet and See Ming.

I went there with my friend Eugene after brunch at The Pink Sage (my new favourite brunch hangout spot!). We walked around for a bit and then later went back to the ilovesnackfood booth where I already knew I was going to buy a watch when I first saw them. Sigh. So much for not spending.

I originally noticed the Tokyo Flash watches – but it was Normal Watches that caught my eye. I was deciding between three: one read “Facebook ruined my life” while another said “I am so gay for marriage” which I thought was quite funny. In the end, I went for this one which didn’t really say anything but the icons on the watch face screamed me! It’s model name is Normal Watches Social Networking White Watch. How to resist?
