Good luck to Carmen Soo and the production of Kahit Isang Saglit (A Time For Us) at the International Emmy Awards

Update (10.46am Malaysian time, Nov 24):

Carmen just tweeted to say that Kahit Isang Saglit didn’t win. The award went to Brazil’s India – A Love Story instead. We still love you, Carmen!

I know this is pretty random but my friend Carmen Soo (yes, yes, namedropping) just dropped me a Tweet from New York (I am so jealous!). She’s there for the International Emmy Awards 2009 where the TV show that she starred in alongside Jericho Rosales (a Phillipines/Malaysia co-production) A Time For Us (or Kahit Isang Saglit) is nominated in the telenovela category!

Kahit Isang Saglit (I’m going to keep repeating this ‘cos it’s fun to speak/write another language. The only Filipino word I know is Mabuhai!) will be going up against other shows from Brazil (India – A Love Story), also from The Phillipines (Magdusa Ka) and France (Second Chance).

I don’t know much about the show so I thought I’d Google it, and came across the trailer. It’s a full-length trailer (unlike the YouTube one below) with English subtitles so click here to view it (the embed code doesn’t work). Looks so exciting!

The Awards will be held at the Hilton Hotel in New York  on Monday night (Tuesday morning our time) but this post is really to say: “Good luck for Kahit Isang Saglit, Carmen!”

I am also very jealous because she Tweeted about having dinner with Angel Locsin (nominated for Best Actress for her performance in The Wolf!) at MoMA. No, not jealous about her being with the gorgeous Angel, but it’s MoMA goddamit!

I was there a couple of years ago. And I wanna go back!
