First Poken Up I organised

Events

Well, I am most grateful to everyone who showed up at Chawan this afternoon for the first ever meet up for Poken-ers, Twitterers and bloggers. I really wasn’t expecting so many people to show up but I think I got almost 20 people, so I’m really stoked.

Thanks you all!

I got there early to discuss some stuff with @ling_chan (more details soon, hopefully), and waited for a bit before everyone showed up. I was starting to worry that I had booked a table for 10 and no one was going to be there! Then Rames showed up and then they all started trickling in. Woo!

The photo taken below was the earliest bunch of people, sorry I only took two pictures on my camera so I don’t have everyone. Clockwise from bottom left: April Yim, Amanda Choe, Rames Studios, myself, Ling Chan, Soon Wei, Nigel Yap, Derek Yap and Fiona Rachael.

First wave!

Many others showed up later and they include (hopefully I got everyone, otherwise let me know and I’ll include your name here! It also means you haven’t registered your Poken yet = LAME!): Suanie (pic below – Yes, THE suanie was there *jumps like a schoolgirl* I devirginised her Poken heh), Erna Mahyuni, thechannelc, Tekong, Andrew, Josh Lim, Horng and DustyHawk.

Suanie and I

I’m sorry I wasn’t able to chat alot to everyone but I hope everyone had a good time. It was nice meeting some people again and of course, always a pleasure to make new friends. Here’s to more meet ups. I also curi-ed this picture from SmashPop’s website (a picture he stole from Guai Chai Kid @ Howard U first, btw) and thought I’d share it here.

Camwhores!

I’m off to Bali (yes, again!) in a few hours for the International Congress on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific (ICAAP) but I’ll try to update my blog and Tweet from there. Have a good Sunday and week ahead y’all. :) Good night.
