Confessions of a Twitter addict

Events

I was a bit shy to announce this earlier but since I’ve been getting Tweets, phone calls and emails about it … I guess the cat is out of the bag.

Not that it was much of a secret anyway!

I’ll be co-presenting at a session to be held at Menara Star next Friday entitled:

Adventures with Social Media – Lessons from Asia’s Internet

The main speaker (yeah, I’m not at that level yet lah) is Dr Michael Netzley, associate professor of corporate communications practice at the Singapore Management University. Am I the only person who thinks what a cool name he has (and most apt too!)?

The article in The Star, which bocor-ed my not-so-rahsia, says this about Dr Netzley:

He is an active speaker in the area of social media and has been invited to speak at various public relations and social media conferences around the Asia-Pacific region.

My talk will be titled, Confessions of a Twitter Addict. But I won’t just be touching on Twitter though. It is, after all, a social media session.

What is my credibility, you ask? Well, if the title of my presentation is anything to go by, all you need to do is follow me on Twitter and you’ll see how much of an addict I am. I claim to be nothing more. :)

I will, however, be putting my journalistic skills to good use and be moderating a discussion on social media. On the panel would be, of course, Dr Netzley, myself and two friends who I got to know via social media, David Lian and Carolyn Chan.

Okay, so I’ve known David before but we never really talked until Twitter took over my life.

Click here for details on the talk, or look out for another story on it in The Star on Friday.
