You’ve probably read my references to The Swimming Instructor by now, or seen the Facebook invites. The theatre performance, directed by Chris Ling and written by acclaimed Singaporean playwright Desmond Sim, will feature Davina Goh, Michael Chen and myself. Yup, it’s a three-actor play.
The show opens next week (Dec 3-13) so we’re in the midst of a massive publicity push for the show. I hope you guys will come to watch it as we’ve worked very hard and I think the show will be exciting. I don’t want to give too much away but let’s just say there’s a hot swimming instructor and two people who just happen to looovveeee spending time by the pool.
If that’s not enough to convince you, well, just imagine Davina Goh in a bikini (lots of them). He he Sorry for pimping you out, Dav! Oh wait, I actually have a picture so you don’t have to use your imagination!

Tickets are already on sale now, so I hope to see you there. It should be a night of good fun – although I assure you that it’s not just a comedy, there are poignant moments as well (at least I’d like to think so). Des has written a wonderful script and Chris’ morbid mind has gone to town with it. But it’s also pretty fun and frivolous – so don’t let the dark mood of the picture below (of me and Michael) put you off.

Each of our character has their own Facebook profile, so please feel free to add them. Chat with the characters, find out what they are thinking and they actually leave hints of what to expect during the show. You can add them by clicking on the links in the promo below! Join in the fun!

Guan is a no-nonsense swimming instructor who teaches kids swimming at public pools. Unbeknownst to him,
he has become an object of affection (and desire!) of Jan, a vivacious rich girl and Dave, a go-getting advertising executive.
Will Guan’s admirers discover what’s lurking beneath his seemingly calm surface?

That’s a shame!
Hi Niki,
I have attended quite a number of plays in London as I work as a physician in Royal Lomdon Hospital & I have to say although your production was a tad shorter, but it was definitely as good if not better than the London productions. Bravo again for a job well done. You’ve made my choice of returning to work in Malaysia just that much easier. Cheers, Kee
Just watched your play today and thought it was awesome. Great job mate. Think you were definitely the star of the show for me & I was among those who gave you a standing ovation
