RWP location released!

I am heading over to Sabah for a few days to work on a youth development programmme with some teenagers, and as such, will miss RWP. Yes, the event I have been plugging, and plugging, and plugging.

Was told that even mobile reception is limited in Pukak, where my friend and I will be based, so don’t think I will even have time to blog. Will try to Twitter tho - so please check back here for updates.

But more importantly, received an email from Zain at 2.41am with the location of RWP released. Now that it’s officially out … here’s what the email read:

+
3pm KL Sentral with a book, mag or newspaper
The area infront of
1. KFC
2. Dunkin Donuts
3. KTM Komuter entrance

Can’t wait to see the reaction on peoples faces. :)

Oh, and this is the last of the three videos released to promote this Saturday’s semi-flashmob. You already know I’m in it but this version also features Ida Nerina, Emmett Butterfingers, Sharifah Aleysha, Sharifah Aryana, Sazzy Falak, Farihin Abdul Fattah, Shaz Mukhtar and Chef Ismail.

And please don’t just watch it. Embed it in your blogs, and link it around too. Spread the word!

Have fun on Aug 23!

Zulkifli Noordin: Inappropriate comment?

Today, both The Star and NST published stories from the Dewan Rakyat session yesterday, and both featured a story on the “Missing MP”, PKR’s Zulkifli Noordin who apparently dissapeared from the face of earth after barging into the open forum organised by the Bar Council on conversion to Islam, something he denies.

The Star’s headline reads:

‘Missing MP’ turns up but evasive: Zulkifli denies he was arrested after protest at Bar forum

This quote below by Zulkifli was not published in The Star, but it was in the printed version of NST (but the link on their website to the story does not work).

“Don’t invite any Tom, Dick or Harry. You can talk about Islam but you cannot talk for Islam. I don’t call any chendol or kacang putih seller to talk about Hinduism, do I? That would only look stupid. I would call the priest of the relevant authority.”

Am I the only one who thinks that this comment, well, is not quite appropriate? I don’t know about you, but I think that statement just made him sound stupid.

RWP: Vid 2

Apologies if there seems to be an overkill of RWP plugging - it’s just that D-Day for the project is this Saturday. Also, because I only managed to embed the first version of Video #2 yesterday, I have to embed the second version today so that I can do version three tomorrow. I will be away (again!) from tomorrow you see but I’ll tell you all about it then.

This video in particular features Joyce Wong @ Kinky Blue Fairy, Dr Farish Noor, Sharon Bakar, Emmett Butterfingers, Prem & Jules as well as Fahmi Fadzil. Oh, my huge eye bags are in it too.

Pop TV

A couple of posts ago, I plugged both The Fairly Current Show and RWP at the same time (Zain was featured on the show).

What I didn’t mention was that I actually visited the set of the new Internet TV show for an article I was doing for StarMag - out yesterday.

The article is mainly about The Fairly Current Show, and I spoke to the people behind the show and discovered something rather interesting - that the Internet can be seen as a “performance space”. If you missed the story, you can read it here.

There was also a sidebar that went along with the main story, that talks about the show and its current episode which features Zain (the one I embedded the last time).

And while I am on the subject of RWP - I thought I’d just mention that I am also in the video for the project which features among others the likes of Joyce The KinkyBlueFairy, PinkPau Su Ann, Dr. Farish Noor, Ida Nerina, Altimet, Jazeman Jaafar and more..

There are three versions to the video, the first one of which I embed below.

Lee Chong Wei beaten by Lin Dan

“Near perfection,” the commentator said. Perfect indeed.

Lin Dan was ruthless, and every bit the Olympic champion that he is, during the game as he humiliated our own Lee Chong Wei in the finals of the men’s badminton singles at the Beijing Olympics 2008.

The score?

21-12, 21-8. It was barely a fight.

Lee Chong Wei could do nothing, Lin Dan was just too good. But let’s not take anything away from Chong Wei, I say, after all he is returning with our sole medal (so far).

I hope Chong Wei isn’t the target of bad press after this, after all, many of our other players have done more miserably than him, no?

We’ll just have to wait for the gold a while more another time.
